EM Gallery Event Capacity
EM Gallery
The room that became a gallery.
EM Gallery was designed as the venue’s primary gallery space from day one. Track lighting on adjustable rails runs the full length of the ceiling. Two clean white walls for hanging. Original ceiling detail and timber accents from the 1930s French-colonial construction. Quiet through the day tempo for installation and viewing, then handed to the AFTER DARK tempo for your private view, when the bar in the Villa comes alive below.
- Professional track lighting on adjustable rails
- Maximum hanging wall space, wall-to-wall
- Two clean white walls + original feature wall
- Original 1930s ceiling detail and timber accents
- Natural light from front façade — controllable for install
- Staircase access — natural arrival moment for guests
Exhibition Formats
From opening night to artist talk.
The gallery functions differently across the lifespan of a show. Opening night is one format. A mid-run artist talk is another. The bar downstairs adapts to each.
Private View
50guests
Opening night cocktail reception. EM Gallery upstairs exclusively for viewing. Bar service from the Villa running to both floors. The format of a proper private view in a proper gallery.
Artist Talk
30guests
Theatre rows set in the gallery for an artist conversation, panel, or screening. Work remains on the walls. The audience is already inside the show. A format that makes the talk feel embedded rather than adjacent.
Collector’s Dinner
20guests
A long table set in the gallery — dining surrounded by the work. The most intimate exhibition format. Suitable for collector evenings, auction previews, or artist-led experiences.
EM Gallery Floor Plan
A configurable gallery layout tool is in development — hang your works virtually before installation day. For now, send us your brief and we’ll map the layout with you.

01
The building already has a point of view
Showing in a white cube is fine. Showing in a 1930s French-colonial events villa with professional lighting is a statement. The building is part of the curation, not a neutral container for it.
02
District 3 is an arts neighbourhood
Pasteur Street in District 3 sits within a cluster of galleries, creative studios, and design practices, a 12-minute walk from Tao Đàn Park. Your opening night audience is already nearby — and your show is one more reason for them to come to this block.
03
The bar is part of the opening night
Gallery private views work best when the audience and the work are treated with the same care. The Villa cocktail bar operates as normal on opening night — your guests arrive to a proper drink, not a warm sparkling water, and the conversation about the work carries downstairs with them.
Questions
Exhibition hire questions answered.
How long can an exhibition run?
Most gallery hires run 1–3 days (private view plus extended viewing). Multi-week installations are possible depending on the venue calendar. Note your desired run dates in the enquiry form and we’ll confirm availability.
Can we hang on all walls, including the feature wall?
The white walls are available for hanging. The original 1930s feature wall can accommodate work with suitable fixings — we’ll walk through the options on a site visit. No permanent fixings into the building fabric.
Is the gallery available to the public during the exhibition?
No — by default, the gallery hire is private to your event and invited guests. Open-to-public exhibitions can be arranged by appointment; speak to us about managing public access alongside your event.
How much does gallery hire cost at TEMPO House?
EM Gallery is booked on a minimum spend rather than a hire fee — you are paying for what your guests eat and drink, not for the room. The figure depends on the run length, the days and any installation needs. Send your dates through the enquiry form and we will come back with the number within 24 hours.
Can brands host a product launch or activation in EM Gallery?
Yes. Brands activate alongside the current show for genuine art-world credibility rather than a rented backdrop — see our Product Launch and Brand Activation pages for format details.
